Corporation
Northern California Emergency Medical Services, Inc. (Nor-Cal EMS) is a private, nonprofit public
benefit corporation organized in 1982 to improve emergency medical care
in northeastern California. The Corporation currently contracts with the
11 counties of Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra,
Siskiyou, Tehama, and Trinity to conduct specific Division 2.5, Health
and Safety Code "Local EMS Agency" responsibilities.
The Nor-Cal EMS region encompasses an area of over 33,000
square miles with a permanent population in excess of 550,000.
