Northern California EMS, Inc. (Nor-Cal EMS) is a private, nonprofit public
benefit corporation organized in 1982 to improve emergency medical care
in northeastern California. The Corporation currently contracts with
six counties including
Glenn,
Lassen,
Modoc,
Plumas,
Sierra, and
Trinity
to conduct specific Division 2.5, Health
and Safety Code "Local EMS Agency" responsibilities.
The Nor-Cal EMS six county region encompasses an area of over 16,000
square miles with a permanent population in excess of 107,000.

populations from under 1,000 to about 30,000, widely scattered over both
incorporated and unincorporated areas.
