California Medical Volunteers

Disaster Volunteers Wanted

Would you like to be a part of a meaningful organization to help with disaster preparedness and response? Do you enjoy working with people? Do you have health care skills?

The Medical Reserve Corps of Far Northern California (MRC-FNC) serving the inland northern California counties and the California Medical Volunteers (statewide) is looking for medical professionals, such as doctors, nurses, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, pharmacists, nurses' assistants, and 30 other types with valid, unencumbered credentials. Community members without medical training are also welcome to assist with administrative and essential support functions.

The MRC-FNC was established on July 11 2005, as a partner program unit of Citizen Corps, a national network of volunteers dedicated to ensuring hometown security. The community/jurisdiction serves the regions of Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou, Sutter, Tehama, Trinity, and Yuba counties. The mission of the MRC-FNC is to improve the health and safety of communities by organizing and utilizing public health, medical, and other volunteers to prepare and respond to emergencies. MRC volunteers supplement existing emergency and public health resources and strengthen public infrastructure – a valuable component in disaster planning and emergency preparedness.
