The Nor-Cal EMS region encompasses an area of over 16,000 square miles
with a permanent population in excess of 107,000.
Information on Our Region
Located within the Nor-Cal EMS region are eight base and/or receiving
hospitals. Field delivery of emergency medical services is provided by
15 ambulance services and numerous first responder agencies staffed by
nearly 700 certified personnel.
The scarcity of advanced
life support (ALS) services contributes to the
region's dependency on first responder agencies.
